Piano Tuning

Piano Tuning requires an hour to ninety minutes and involves adjusting the tension of each of the two hundred or more strings in the instrument to make it sound musical.

We have been serving the Ottawa, Gatineau, Kanata, Orleans, Nepean and Barrhaven areas for over a decade.  Our clients rely on our professionalism and craftsmanship to keep their precious instruments in tip top shape.  High profile pianists, teachers, churches, hotels and music venues are among our clientele.  We tune pianos at many of the festivals that visit our city yearly.  We feel the piano in your living room is just as important and demands the same attention as the one on the concert stage.

All major manufacturers recommend tuning your piano two to four times a year.  Twice per year is a bare bones minimum for most pianists.  You may wish to tune more frequently if you have a sensitive ear with regards to pitch.

If you have recently acquired or moved your piano, you should wait four to six weeks before tuning.  Changes in the piano's surroundings or microenvironment will cause the piano to go out of tune.  Tuning immediately after moving may be inefficient as the piano will take a month or two to acclimatize.  If you tune immediately, your instrument may go out of tune within that time.
